R.E.Y. Engineers conducted existing condition surveys along portions of the Sacramento River near downtown Sacramento. Areas surveyed included the “Old Town Sacramento” vicinity, as well as the Pocket area. This field test of our most recent technology offering utilized the R2Sonic 2024 multibeam sonar in combination with the Riegl VMX-250-CS6 mobile LiDAR. The Riegl CS6 camera system was also employed to capture simultaneous georeferenced imagery.

The imagery data was used to colorize the point cloud in true color and assist with feature data extraction.

Above and below surface survey data of the river, complete with imagery and spanning a half mile was collected in less than one hour.
