R.E.Y. Engineers provided project management, planning, design, surveying and construction management for the redevelopment of historic Sutter Street, Folsom’s “main” street since the 1850’s. R.E.Y. was the project lead during both the design and construction phases, providing complete civil design,  stakeholder coordination, inspection, and construction administrative services on behalf of the city.  The project included a complete overhaul of the district’s infrastructure including modernization of all underground utility systems, ADA compliance and pedestrian-friendly improvements and updated landscape and hardscape features, while preserving the look and feel of historic Folsom.

R.E.Y.’s team worked closely with the City of Folsom, local business owners, the public and other stakeholders to develop a consistent design that met the City’s goals and vision. While implementing current design standards along Sutter Street, R.E.Y. simultaneously focused on preserving the historic nature of the district and avoiding impacts to historic buildings and local businesses.  By including educational features and historic aesthetics, R.E.Y. succeeded in maintaining a vintage curb appeal.

Through the use of the VMX-250-CS6 system, R.E.Y. completed a preconstruction scan and true project as-builts. The mobile LiDAR data was used to establish post construction line and grades throughout the project. This data along with a preconstruction scan proved to be a useful tool in verifying construction quantities and identifying scope creep.
