This $900 million cooperative project between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of the Interior, and Bureau of Reclamation was created to assist the Sacramento region in achieving 200-year level of flood protection.
R.E.Y. provided a full-range of surveying services including project control verification, establishment of supplemental control, monthly quantity surveys for a 400’x600’x160’ deep excavation area, monthly monitoring surveys, precise layout, and as-built surveys to support construction of the Auxiliary Spillway Control Structure. The completed spillway will include a 1,100-foot approach channel, a 3,027-foot long spillway chute to the American River, and a stilling basin.
Along with preliminary surveying services, R.E.Y. also provided control surveys, existing site condition surveys, design surveys, excavation quantity surveys, fill quantity surveys, foundation acceptance surveys, and multi-beam bathymetric surveys during the construction process to ensure seamless execution. These services were submitted in hard copy and digital AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 formats.
