Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS)

R.E.Y.’s most recent technology offering is our small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS); a multi-rotor aerial data collection vehicle which provides photogrammetric mapping and surveying at altitudes of less than 400 feet, providing a much higher level of detail than manned aircraft photogrammetric mapping. Our exemption from Section 333 of Public Law 112-95 from the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) allows us to operate our UAS commercially within specific conditions. It is an ideal tool for environmentally-sensitive habitats, crash sites, crime scenes, contamination areas, areas of earth movement, flooding, high traffic, rough terrain, industrial sites, and areas where safety of survey staff is an issue.

R.E.Y.’s sUAS team includes the systems, software, personnel and safety equipment to meet your survey needs in the safest and most efficient way possible. Our team includes an FAA certified rotorcraft and IFR pilot, is completely portable, and is able to mobilize on site in a very short time to most locations. Using state-of-the-art software, we are able to automate significant portions of the flight plan, ensuring public safety and complete site coverage according to your needs. Our sUAS and ground equipment are uploaded with fail-safe software designed to automatically land the equipment safely in a predesignated location. All post processing work is performed under the supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor and final deliverables are quality checked against needs of the project, contract requirements and applicable standards, such as National Standard for Spatial Data Accuracy (NSSDA) and American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS).
